The RheolabQC is a rotational rheometer for quality control purposes, equipped with a similar EC motor as the MCR Rheometer series. It features the Toolmaster™ for automatic recognition of the measuring systems.
The RheolabQC can be used as a stand-alone instrument or with the software RheoCompass™ or Rheoplus (discontinued, only available on request). Therefore the RheolabQC can be connected via the RS232 interface or via a LAN-Ethernet interface directly to the company or laboratory network. Numerous analysis models and automation routines are available, including a special quality control module. Modules for wellknown LIM systems and conformity with 21 CFR Part 11 are available
Features a hand-wheel so that the instrument head can be moved up and down very easily.

Viscosity measurement – From single point up to complex rheological tests
The RheolabQC rotational rheometer measures the dynamic viscosity of low-viscosity up to semi-solid samples. Besides single-point determinations, flow curves and viscosity curves can be performed to study the sample’s rheological behavior: Simply evaluate with RheolabQC whether your sample is ideally viscous (Newtonian), shear-thinning (pseudoplastic) or even shear-thickening (dilatant). Yield point determinations, thixotropy, and temperature tests provide important insight into the sample’s behavior. Users can choose between controlled shear rate (CSR) and controlled shear stress (CSS) settings. Very fast speed and torque changes (within ms) are possible thanks to the powerful, highly dynamic EC motor drive.
Quick and accurate temperature control
A Peltier temperature device (temperature range: 0 °C to 180 °C) is available for RheolabQC. The Peltier system features fast heating rates (8 K/min) and cooling rates (4 K/min), and excellent temperature accuracy. It does not require any additional fluid thermostat since counter-cooling is simply done with air.
Ease of operation for single-point viscosity determinations as well as more sophisticated rheological tests
RheolabQC can be operated in standalone mode or software-controlled. A data export software is included free of charge with the instrument. It allows you to transfer the measurement data from the instrument to a PC. Toolmaster™, the patented system for automatic recognition of measuring systems, ensures error-free operation. The QuickConnect coupling allows fast and easy mounting and changing of measuring systems without the use of a screwing mechanism.
A wide range of applications covered by only one rotational rheometer
The wide speed and torque range allows for measuring a huge variety of samples with only one instrument. From paints, coatings, and food samples like chocolate or dairy products to petrochemicals like motor oil or even asphalt – RheolabQC makes the measurement of any kind of low-viscosity up to semi-solid samples quick and easy. For customers in the pharmaceutical industry a pharma qualification package which is 21 CFR Part 11 compliant is available.
A broad variety of measuring systems and accessories for a multitude of applications
In order to cover many different applications, a wide range of measuring systems and accessories are available for RheolabQC:
·       Concentric cylinder measuring systems (according to DIN EN ISO 3219 and DIN 53019):
For viscous liquids up to viscoelastic liquids (from low-viscosity samples up to semi-solid samples like creams)
·       Double-gap measuring system (according to DIN 54453):
For samples with a low viscosity (<100 mPa.s)
·       Vane geometries and spindles:
For samples that contain particles (>0.1 mm) or tend to sedimentate (like dispersions)
·       Krebs spindles (According to ASTM D562):
Especially for our customers in the paint, building, and mining industries who measure viscosity in Krebs units
·       Flexible cup holder:
To directly immerse a measuring bob into a sample container, for example an aluminum can (paints, coatings) or a 500 mL beaker
·       Ball measuring system:
For samples with larger particles such as building materials (cement, concrete, plaster, or food products like yogurt or jam with fruit bits)

MCR 72 and 92 Rheometers

The two new members of the renowned Modular Compact Rheometer (MCR) series – MCR 72 and MCR 92 – are the two wisest choices for quick and easy rheological measurements. These real rheometer “pearls” from Anton Paar are streamlined for your daily lab routine, easy to use in a Plug and Play fashion and available at an accommodating price.
There are two different models: MCR 72 is equipped with a ball-bearing motor and provides measurements in rotational mode and for special applications also in the oscillatory mode. MCR 92 provides measurements in both rotation and oscillation and has air-bearing motor technology. There is a range of accessories available for both models. The step-by-step software and special features like TruRay (integrated light), QuickConnect (fast and easy mounting of the measuring system), Toolmaster™ (automatic tool recognition and configuration), etc. guarantee excellent ease of use.
For academic use, both instruments are available as an EDU Edition, including a special EDU package for teaching staff as well as EDU Student Packages.
Two models designed for your application
Two new rheometers are available: MCR 72 is equipped with a ball-bearing motor (very robust in use, no compressed air required) and MCR 92 with an air-bearing motor (highly accurate for sensitive samples). Both rheometers enable measurements in both rotational and oscillatory mode. The choice of rheometer depends on your application. To investigate the deformation and flow behavior of your sample (also at different temperatures) consider MCR 72. For observing your samples’ structure, MCR 92 is recommended. Both instruments have a motor which lifts up the measuring head automatically to set an exact measuring gap. This gap is 100 % reproducible. MCR 72 and MCR 92 can both be equipped with temperature devices to cover a range from -40 °C up to 400 °C.
Your key to accuracy – the motor technology
25 years of experience in one motor – you only get this with rheometers from Anton Paar. The air-bearing-supported synchronous EC motor deploys a frictionless synchronous movement of the rotor inside that enables the most sensitive and therefore most precise movements. Whether investigating solids or low-viscosity liquids your results are accurate across a wide viscosity range.
Step-by-step software
The intuitive RheoCompass™ software helps you to find the test template you need, customize tests and analysis definitions, export your data and generate reports. You are guided through your first rheological measurements with predesigned but individually adaptable templates, including integrated videos and pictures for extra support. Different accounts can be created for each operator working in the lab.
Unique features for easy handling and reproducible results
The literal highlight of these two rheometer models is clearly TruRay, the lighting of the measuring surface that can be gradually regulated for a clear view of your sample. When changing between measuring systems, QuickConnect allows one-hand connection of the measuring systems and ensures fast, convenient system changes without the use of a screwing mechanism. After this, ToolmasterTM takes over by automatically recognizing the mounted tool and temperature units. Finally the SafeGap feature ensures that the setting of the measuring gap is always identical for every measurement and exactly reproducible every time.
